Veganism has recently become more popular than ever before with many people ditching the dairy and trying to live a more clean, fresh and organic healthy lifestyle. I lived in the Caribbean for a few years and although soul food and fried chicken is popular there, Veganism has been a part of the lifestyle for true Rastafarians for many years with the rasta community producing completely organic, plant based Ital food which is absolutely incredible. Fresh, healthy, made with love. Coconut milk and oil is used regularly as well as almond, cashew and rice milk.
The idea of consuming cows milk as humans seems to me personally unnatural and not right, eggs and butter it is believed clogs up our system causing blockages and colds. It is important to listen to your body, to try to eat a balanced diet and to make sure that you are eating a good healthy diet with lentils, pulses, fresh vegetables, fruit and wholegrains. Just eat as clean as possible, there are so many simple recipes out there and available online.
I personally love to cook from scratch! I find it relaxing and therapeutic. Creating your food and knowing exactly where it has come from, eating as locally grown as possible is so important to the balance of our bodies and not to mention long term health*very Ayurvedic. But most of all, be happy! let go! respect your body and have fun creating meals and living life to the fullest!
I will be adding some recipes soon so please watch this space!.
